This recognition, part of the Teacher and Student of the Month series sponsored by Crumbl Cookies in Niceville and other top local businesses, highlights outstanding educators who go above and beyond in shaping young minds.

Mr. Flynn, the 6th-grade World History teacher at Okaloosa STEMM Academy in Valparaiso, stands out for his unwavering commitment to making history come alive for his students. His passion for guiding them through the fascinating fabric of global events is reflected in his engaging teaching methods.

One remarkable example of Mr. Flynn’s innovative approach involves connecting historical concepts with real-world examples. Students were captivated as he explored why a Super Mario Brothers game recently sold for a staggering $2 million, seamlessly integrating the principles of supply and demand into the lesson.

Here’s what a few of Mr. Flynn’s students have to say about him:

“I may be in 7th grade, but I will never forget Mr. Flynn. Everything that he says is a quote. He is my favorite teacher at STEMM and is always very nice, but he is not afraid of giving constructive feedback,” said Aiden.

“Mr. Flynn is truly great and was an amazing teacher in 6th grade, helping me with all of my needs, getting students to work together, and pulling them in one-on-one sessions about their grades. My brother loved him too, and I can see why—Mr. Flynn is awesome.”

Alana, another student, highlighted Mr. Flynn’s efforts to make learning enjoyable.

“Mr. Flynn shows us funny parody videos that are about what we are learning and does history games with us. He tries his best to make learning fun and succeeds!” she said.

“Mr. Flynn has very great teaching methods that help me to understand everything clearly,” shared Gemma.

“He also makes his lessons fun, too,” she added.
