NICEVILLE, Fla — Okaloosa County schools will remain closed on Wednesday due to the expected impact from Hurricane Sally in our area. Schools were closed Tuesday due to the storm.
Announcement from the Okaloosa County School District:
Based on information received from the National Weather Service and our County Director of Public Safety, Okaloosa County Schools will remain closed Wednesday, September 16th. This includes school-based child care programs, all extracurricular activities, and my School Online scheduled sessions. School District personnel will continue to monitor information received from the Okaloosa County Director of Public Safety and will pass along updates as needed through call outs, website, social media, and local media outlets.
We anticipate having school on Thursday. However, due to the unpredictable nature of this storm, a final decision will not be made until tomorrow.
