OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. — An Okaloosa County man is facing felony and misdemeanor charges after allegedly using his pickup truck to ram another driver’s vehicle several times during a reported road rage incident Sunday afternoon, the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO) announced.

Anthony Daniels, 42, of Destin, is charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and resisting arrest without violence.

According to the OCSO, deputies responded around 3:15 p.m. to the area of Regatta Bay Boulevard and Emerald Coast Parkway, where they found the victim’s damaged car. Witnesses said a black pickup truck had slammed into the back of the vehicle multiple times and then pushed it down the road.

Mr Daniels was said to have continued driving aggressively by speeding past the car and sideswiping it, eventually forcing the victim off the roadway.

When OCSO deputies located and attempted to arrest Daniels, he reportedly resisted, resulting in a deputy sustaining an ankle injury.

Mr Daniels and a passenger in his truck told deputies that the other driver had been weaving through traffic in the rain and that someone in the victim’s vehicle had thrown an object at their truck.

The sheriff’s office has shared a brochure from AAA about how to avoid road rage encounters. It’s available here.
