NICEVILLE, Fla — The Florida Department of Health reports this morning the cumulative number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Okaloosa County is 5,860, 40 since yesterday. The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Niceville and Valparaiso is 792.
The DOH reports the total number of COVID-19 -related deaths in Okaloosa County is 129, no change.
Statewide, 3,662 new cases were reported today.
The number of cumulative hospitalizations related to coronavirus in Okaloosa is 322, three since yesterday. The FDOH reports today there are 20 COVID-19 patients in Okaloosa County hospitals.

According to the FDOH, there were 440 tests returned yesterday in Okaloosa with 41 positives. The daily positivity rate is 9.32 percent, down from 10.04 percent the previous day.
Okaloosa’s weekly positivity rate was 9.91 percent for the week ending Oct. 17, up from 7.79 percent the previous week, according to the FDOH.
Florida’s current weekly positivity rate is 12.0 percent (7-day moving average) according to Johns Hopkins University Coronavirus Resource Center data.
Currently, Florida is testing 1.1 people in 1,000, ranking it 49th in the U.S. for testing according to data provided by Johns Hopkins.
