“Through the dedication and hard work of our outstanding faculty and staff and with the support of the College administration, we have been able to expand our ASN Program by accepting more students this fall than we ever have before,” says Director of Nursing Dr. Charlotte Kuss.

Northwest Florida State College has 156 students enrolled in the nursing associate degree program, the largest in school history.

“Through the dedication and hard work of our outstanding faculty and staff and with the support of the College administration, we have been able to expand our ASN Program by accepting more students this fall than we ever have before,” says Director of Nursing Dr. Charlotte Kuss. “Additionally, through focused efforts on retention and success, we have the highest number of students who are beginning the second year of our program. The Best is Our Standard!”

The Associate in Nursing program at NWF State College has been awarded national accreditation by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).

In addition, the RN to BSN program has been accredited since 2009 by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) and went through the reaccreditation process in 2013-14 and was awarded an additional 10 years for continued accreditation until 2024.

The nursing programs at NWF State College have maintained continuous accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) since their inception.

“According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of registered nurses is projected to grow 16 percent from 2014 to 2024, much faster than the average for all occupations,” says Dr. Devin Stephenson, NWF State College President. “We are expanding our program to supply the nursing workforce that our region is demanding. This past February, our associate of science degree in nursing was ranked as one of the top 20 associate degree programs in Florida. We are proud of this tradition of continued excellence in our nursing programs.”
