According to the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) and the Florida Board of Nursing, out of all 28 public ASN programs within FCS, NWF State College moved from ninth to fifth.
Northwest Florida State College Nursing is celebrating advancement in statewide program rankings and National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN) pass rates over the course of the 2017-2018 academic year.
NWF State College Nursing also advanced drastically within the state’s rankings of both public Florida College System (FCS) ASN programs and overall pre-licensure nursing programs.
According to the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) and the Florida Board of Nursing, out of all 28 public ASN programs within FCS, NWF State College moved from ninth to fifth. Out of all 38 of Florida’s public pre-licensure nursing programs across the FCS and State University System, NWF State College moved from fourteenth to eighth.
Over the past academic year, NWF State College’s Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) program has seen a rise in NCLEX-RN pass rates from 93.6% during the 2016-2017 year to 98.5% for 2017-2018. The current pass rate for ASN within Florida is approximately 71.9% with the national pass rate at 86.9% for 2017-2018.
The NCLEX-RN is used nationally to determine if candidates are deemed safe to begin practicing as entry-level nurses and serves as the primary prerequisite to nurse licensure.
