OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. — The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has announced the temporary overnight closure of the Interstate 10 westbound rest area near mile marker 60 in Okaloosa County.
The rest area will be closed from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 17 and Tuesday, Nov. 18 while crews conduct nighttime paving work. The closure affects only the westbound side.
The paving is part of a $4.3 million rest area and truck parking improvement project that includes enhanced lighting, updated signage, and upgrades to the Truck Parking Availability System. Construction is expected to be completed in late 2026.
All activities are weather-dependent and may be delayed or rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. FDOT reminds drivers to use caution when traveling through work zones, especially at night, and to watch for construction workers and equipment entering and exiting the roadway.
