Niceville, Fla. – Niceville Young Professionals (NYP) celebrated the completion of their Camp Fire Circle Community Service Project at Camp Timpoochee with a Niceville Valparaiso Chamber of Commerce Ribbon Cutting.
The NYP group raised over $6,000 to have a professional fire pit constructed with additional seating. Niceville Valparaiso Chamber of Commerce Chairman of the Board Mike Guidry and family, Carr Riggs and Ingram, Ferrin Campbell Construction, LLC and CHELCO contributed to the project.
Chamber Ambassadors, Board of Directors, NYP Members, friends and family joined NYP Chair Lisa Wright and Camp Director Ariel Blanton for the special ribbon-cutting event.
Camp Director Ariel Blanton spoke about the significant and positive impact of this Fire Pit Circle. Established in 1926 and boasting 14 acres on the Choctawhatchee Bay, Camp Timpoochee is the 2nd oldest 4-H camp in the country and was the first in Florida.
The fire pit is the heart of the camp where campers come together to make friends, s’mores, sing songs and share their favorite memories about their time at camp.
In addition to summer 4-H and Marine Camps, Camp Timpoochee is a popular event venue.
Niceville Young Professionals are a networking group of the Chamber focused on developing meaningful business relationships and making lasting contributions to the local community.
