NICEVILLE, Fla. — The Niceville Police Department is asking for community support as it works to bring a new police K-9 to the city.
The Niceville Police Department said it is raising funds to replace K-9 Blue, who was killed in the line of duty in 2022, and to prepare for the planned retirement of K-9 Kodi in 2026.
Police K-9s play a key role in public safety, assisting officers with narcotics detection, missing person searches, and community engagement, the department said.
Officials said donations will go directly toward purchasing the new K-9 and the essential equipment needed for service.
Community members who wish to contribute can do so by contacting Sgt Pond, Cpl Naples, or the Niceville Police Department administration office.
Donations may be made in person at 212 Partin Drive North in Niceville. For more information, residents may also contact the department at 850-729-4030.
The Niceville Police Department thanked the community for its continued support and for helping strengthen public safety efforts throughout the city.
