NICEVILLE, Fla. — The Niceville Police Department has expanded its fundraising effort for a new police K-9 by adding an online donation option, as the campaign has raised $5,025 so far, according to the department.
The Niceville Police Department said it is raising funds to replace K-9 Blue, who was killed in the line of duty in 2022, and to prepare for the planned retirement of K-9 Kodi in 2026.
Police K-9s assist officers with narcotics detection, missing person searches, and community engagement, the department said.
Officials said donations will go directly toward purchasing a new K-9 and essential service equipment, including a K-9 vehicle. The department has added a donation link and QR code to allow residents to contribute electronically, while continuing to accept cash and check donations in person.

Community members who wish to donate in person may still do so by visiting the Niceville Police Department at 212 Partin Drive North. Residents may also contact Sgt Pond, Cpl Naples, or the department’s administrative office for assistance.
Additional information is available by calling 850-729-4030, the department said.
The Niceville Police Department thanked the community for its continued support and said donations help strengthen public safety efforts throughout the city.
