The NPD said officers responded to a retail theft complaint on October 23 shortly before 5 p.m. at the CEFCO store located at 555 Highway 85 North. During the investigation, officers said they saw a silver Hyundai parked at the gas pumps in front of the store’s entrance. The vehicle’s passenger was identified as Jacob Gabany, who police said is a known member of a criminal gang.

A subsequent investigation reportedly found Mr Gabany in possession of 27.6 grams of fentanyl and other controlled substances.

Mr Gabany was arrested and charged with trafficking in fentanyl, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug equipment, and resisting an officer without violence, the NPD said.
