Niceville High School Leadership Program presents literacy lessons

NicevilleJanuary 10, 2014Updated:April 21, 20141 Min Read

The Niceville High School Leadership program traveled to Edge Elementary and Lewis School recently to present literacy lessons to the students.  The Leadership students read a popular children’s story to the elementary kids, presented a literacy lesson that related to the book, played a game with the students, completed an activity with them, and last but not least treated them to a snack that was themed to their books.

Some books presented were Chika Chika Boom Boom, Green Eggs and Ham, The Polar Express, The Giving Tree, The Wizard of Oz and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

“The Leadership students really enjoyed teaching these stories to the elementary aged students and were able to get a great idea of how hard teachers work to teach their students every day,” said Krissinda Chambers, Niceville High School.  “The leadership students hope to make this a yearly event of building connections and giving back to our feeder schools.”
