Niceville High School’s inaugural medical club, NHS Future Docs, recently held their first meeting at Twin Cities Hospital in Niceville. The meeting was located in the Twin Cities Wellness Center and was organized by Noel Newton, a Twin Cities human resource generalist, and Luzan Prinsloo, the founder and president of NHS Future Docs. Luzan is a junior at NHS.
At the meeting Kelly Light, a nurse at the hospital, spoke to the club members about her experience as a medical professional and what it means to be a nurse. She discussed some of the medical slang currently used by nurses, the different fields in which nurses can specialize, and some interesting facts about the history of nursing. Thirty members of the club were present at the meeting, and they all enjoyed having the opportunity to expand their knowledge of the medical field.
Club members would like to thank Noel Newton and Kelly Light for giving the members of NHS Future Docs the opportunity to further explore the medical field.
