Here’s a look back at nighttime paving crews placing the final, friction layer of asphalt on the U.S. 98 travel lanes, between U.S. 331 and Peach Creek, in Walton County.

WALTON COUNTY, Fla.—The U.S. 98 resurfacing project in Walton County has been completed.

On Friday, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) said it completed a $8.3 million project to resurface and improve a four-and-a-half-mile segment of U.S. 98 in Walton County, from east of U.S. 331 to Peach Creek.

According to the FDOT, additional improvements include:

  • Turn lane improvements at Blakely Drew Boulevard
  • Shoulder widening and drainage enhancements
  • Signalization improvements
  • New signage and pavement markings
