New director takes helm of Air Force Armament Directorate at Eglin AFB

EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. — The Air Force Lifecycle Management Center’s Armament Directorate has a new leader following an assumption of leadership ceremony on August 7.

Colonel Robert Lyons III has taken over as the new program executive officer for weapons and director of the unit, responsible for planning and executing all life cycle activities for various air-delivered munitions.

These include the advanced medium-range air-to-air missile, hard target void sensing fuze, joint air-to-surface standoff missile, joint direct attack munition, joint programmable fuze, miniature air-launched decoy, and small-diameter bombs.
