WALTON COUNTY, Fla.—The Walton County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) said a third juvenile has been arrested in connection with a shooting in Mossy Head where an 11-year-old was reportedly seriously injured.
The WCSO Criminal Investigations Bureau has charged a 16-year-old girl with accessory after the fact of a life felony.
According to the WCSO, on the morning of May 2, deputies responded to a reported shooting on West Cypress Avenue following a 911 call from a mother saying her 11-year-old son had been shot.
The WCSO said its investigation determined the teen knew about the shooting and did not notify law enforcement.
The juvenile was arrested on May 13 and booked into the Walton County Jail before being taken to the Department of Juvenile Justice in Crestview.
She is the third juvenile charged in connection to the shooting.
On May 8, Investigators charged a 15-year-old with attempted murder, three counts of aggravated assault, shooting into an occupied dwelling, using a two-way communication device in the commission of a felony, and tampering with evidence.
On May 10, a 16-year-old was arrested and charged with destroying evidence and accessory after the fact.
Investigators believe the shooting was a targeted attack, resulting in an unintended victim being injured.
This case is still active, and the WCSO Criminal Investigation Bureau is continuing its investigation.
