FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla. — A traffic stop in Fort Walton Beach led to the arrest of a Navarre woman on multiple drug-related charges, according to the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office.
The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO) announced that 39-year-old Tabitha Keesey was taken into custody on January 10 following a traffic stop along Beal Parkway.
According to the OCSO, the stop escalated after a sheriff’s office K-9 alerted to the presence of narcotics.
During a search of the vehicle, deputies reportedly located burnt residue on pieces of aluminum foil scattered throughout the car, along with cut plastic straws found inside an eyeglass case.
Investigators also said a small jewelry bag containing a gram of suspected cocaine was located inside another eyeglass case.
Deputies reported finding a digital scale with suspected meth residue and a small plastic container holding approximately two grams of methamphetamine.
According to the sheriff’s office, Ms Keesey later revealed that additional methamphetamine was concealed on her person. Deputies said she retrieved two baggies from her bra, one weighing approximately seven grams and another weighing about eight grams, along with an additional bag containing approximately 22 grams of methamphetamine.
The total amount recovered was nearly 40 grams, the OCSO said.
Investigators said Ms Keesey admitted she had not paid a prior traffic citation and knew her driver’s license had been suspended as a result.
She was charged with trafficking in methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance, and driving with a license suspended or revoked.
