NICEVILLE, Fla. — The Okaloosa County School District said a local civic organization has donated more than $17,000 since 2022 to help reduce student lunch debt across multiple elementary schools.
The Okaloosa County School District announced the Fort Walton Beach Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 2193 most recently contributed $6,000 to benefit Edwins Elementary School, Mary Esther Elementary School, and Walker Elementary School.
The organization is said to have supported district efforts to assist students and families by helping pay down outstanding meal balances at elementary schools throughout Okaloosa County.
“The continued support from the Fort Walton Beach Moose Lodge has made a meaningful difference for our students and families,” said Stephen Anderson, Food Services Program Director.
Mr Anderson said the Fort Walton Beach Moose Lodge remains in close contact with the Okaloosa County School District Food Services to regularly assess needs and provide assistance where it is most needed.
“Community partners like the Fort Walton Beach Moose Lodge exemplify what it means to invest in our students,” said Superintendent Marcus Chambers.
“Their continued generosity and dedication help support the whole child and strengthen our mission to serve students and families across Okaloosa County.”
District officials said the partnership has continued to support students by helping remove financial barriers that can impact access to school meals.
