Quion Cortez Purnell, 21, has been charged with homicide caused by the unlawful distribution of fentanyl. OCSO deputies arrested Mr Purnell on October 15.

According to investigators, the 16-year-old victim is said to have purchased fentanyl from Purnell on August 10, 2023. The teen was later found unresponsive at a Fort Walton Beach residence and was pronounced deceased.

The District One Medical Examiner’s Office determined that the cause of death was “Intoxication with Fentanyl,” said the OCSO.
