According to the city, Bayshore Drive between Judith Avenue and 27th Street will be closed to thru traffic from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday, July 4. Access will be limited to pedestrians and local residents during that time.

The boat ramp at Lions Park will also be closed from 12:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on July 4.

Handicap-accessible vehicle entry will be permitted at the intersection of 27th Street and Bayshore Drive for vehicles with a valid placard. A city-issued map shows the exact location of the closures and available access points.

The road and ramp closures are being coordinated to support the annual “Light Up the Bayou” Fourth of July fireworks show over Boggy Bayou, scheduled to begin at approximately 8:45 p.m.
