Here are the 2022 Florida Main Street Award winners

FLORIDA – The winners of the Secretary of State’s 2022 Florida Main Street Awards include 13 Main Street communities from across the state, from Marianna to Okeechobee. 

The annual awards program recognizes the innovative projects, people, organizations, and businesses in Florida’s 57 Main Street communities.

Last week, Secretary of State Cord Byrd announced the winners during the Preservation on Main Street Conference in DeLand.

“I am proud to recognize the success and achievement of this year’s award winners,” said Byrd.

“Their efforts to promote economic development and historic preservation are crucial to revitalizing Florida’s historic downtowns and the communities they support.”

Here are the winners of the 2022 Florida Main Street Awards:

— Outstanding Local Florida Main Street Supporter

  • Excellence Award
    Karen Helsinger, Grand Central District Association of St. Petersburg
  • Excellence Award
    Kathy Scott, Okeechobee Main Street

— Outstanding Private/Public Partnership

  • Excellence Award
    Chipola College Tech Tribe, Main Street Marianna
  • Achievement Award
    Downtown CRA Wayfinding Project, MainStreet DeLand Association

–Outstanding Florida Main Street Rehabilitation Project

  • Excellence Award
    Historic “Bank of Okeechobee” Building, Okeechobee Main Street

— Outstanding Florida Main Street Public Improvement

  • Excellence Award
    Crystal River Town Square Phase Two, Crystal River Main Street
  • Achievement Award
    Student Art Banner Program, Main Street Wauchula

— Outstanding Florida Main Street Sign/Display Project

  • Excellence Award
