FLORIDA – It is open season for the recreational harvest of gray triggerfish in Gulf state and federal waters and spotted seatrout in the Western Panhandle, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) has announced.

If you plan to fish for gray triggerfish from a private recreational vessel in state or federal waters, you must sign up as a State Reef Fish Angler (annual renewal is required). Spotted seatrout in the Western Panhandle Management Region
The region includes all state and adjacent federal waters from Escambia County through the portion of Gulf County west of 85 degrees, 13.76 minutes west longitude.
