FLORIDA –– The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission’s Catch a Florida Memory program is giving away a fully outfitted fishing kayak in its 2023 Triple Threat Throwdown.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission’s (FWC) saltwater angler recognition program, Catch a Florida Memory, is giving away a fully outfitted fishing kayak valued at over $2,000 to one lucky angler in the first-ever Triple Threat Throwdown, the FWC has announced.

According to the FWC, this is an exclusive raffle opportunity for Triple Threat Club members to win a Bonafide SS127 fishing kayak, fully outfitted with an accessory package from YakAttack. The 12-foot, 7-inch-long sit-or-stand kayak is designed for ultimate fishability, featuring a stable hybrid cat hull design, an ultra-high HiRise seat, multi-rod, and paddle management points, DryPod, deck traction pads, and more, the FWC said.

The YakAttack package includes a landing net, a BlackPak Pro Kayak fishing crate, two-track mounted rod holders, an anchor trolley, and more. Plus, the winner will receive Catch a Florida Memory swag, including a tumbler, hat, shirt, and bait towel.

“This $2,000 fishing kayak package has everything an angler could want,” said Jessica McCawley, director of FWC’s Division of Marine Fisheries Management.

“This challenge wouldn’t be possible without the generous contributions of conservation partners, including Bonafide Kayaks, YakAttack, and others who share our passion for saltwater fishing and conservation. We are thrilled to be able to reward our anglers with such a great prize for participating in Catch a Florida Memory.”

To enter the Triple Threat Throwdown, participants must qualify for a Catch a Florida Memory recognition between Jan. 1 and Sept. 5, 2023, and be a member of the Triple Threat Club at the time of the raffle drawing, which will take place after all submissions from the challenge period have been processed.

Triple Threat Club status is awarded to anglers who have qualified for recognition in all three Catch a Florida Memory programs. This means the angler has caught a Saltwater Grand Slam, a Saltwater Reel Big Fish, and has qualified for at least the Saltwater Life List 10 Fish Club. Anglers only need to qualify for the Triple Threat Club once and the membership never expires.

Catch a Florida Memory’s saltwater angler recognition program rewards anglers for their fishing efforts while encouraging them to target a diversity of species. Anglers do not have to harvest their fish to be eligible for prizes and are encouraged to use proper fish-handling techniques.
