Valparaiso First Church is hosting “Kutz n’ Kicks” on Saturday, August 2, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at 571 Valparaiso Parkway. The outreach event is open to children ages 5 to 12, grades K–6, and will provide one free haircut and one pair of sneakers per child, while supplies last.

Organizers say the event is designed to help area families in need by giving students a confidence boost and a fresh start before the start of the school year.

“Kutz n’ Kicks” is supported by local small businesses, including Doug’s Barber Shop and CoCo Hair Designs, which are helping deliver the haircuts at no cost to families.
