The Fort Walton Beach Postal Service branch was recently named “second in the Nation” in the 22nd Annual Letter Carriers’ Food Drive.
The local postal service branch collected 157,843 pounds of food during the 2014 event, earning it a second place finish nationwide in the category of 100-199 postal service members.
The food drive is held each year on the second Saturday in May. It is the nation’s largest single-day food collection effort.
