Work is underway to construct a State Road 85 northbound left-turn lane into the Crestview Commons. This photo, taken near Hospital Drive (looking south), shows crews excavating the embankment in the S.R. 85 median. Next, crews will place graded aggregate base (GAB) before placing asphalt for the new turn lane. This work is part of the $25 million S.R. 85 improvement project that also includes resurfacing 11 miles of S.R. 85, making improvements at the S.R. 85/I-10 interchange, and upgrading access management for key turn lanes, side streets, driveways, and median openings. This project is currently estimated for completion in summer of 2024. (Contributed)
