Here is this week’s traffic advisory for Okaloosa County:

— Interstate 10 (I-10) Resurfacing from west of Yellow River to east of Shoal River
Shoulder closures will occur between mile markers 52 and 60, Friday, Nov. 3 through Monday, Nov. 6 for repairs. The shoulder repairs will not impact traffic. In addition, I-10 westbound drivers will encounter an inside (left) lane closure between mile markers 52 and 60 on Monday, Nov. 6, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Construction crews will be working on completing guardrail repairs. Law enforcement personnel will be on-scene to direct drivers through the work zone safely.

— Brooks Bridge Replacement Project
Drivers may experience traffic disruptions Sunday, Nov. 5 through Thursday, Nov. 9, between 9 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. for utility work and construction activities in the following locations:

  • U.S. 98 east and westbound alternating and intermittent lane closures between Ferry Road and Pier Road
  • Santa Rosa Boulevard east and westbound alternating lane closures from east of Amberjack Drive to Ross Marler Park

Construction crews are working to build a new I-10 interchange near Antioch Road (Future Exit 53). One feature of the $72.7 million effort will be a single-lane roundabout on Antioch Road that seamlessly connects it with Whitehurst Lane, Addison Place, and Garrett Pitt Road. Once completed, the new exit on I-10 (Future Exit 53) combined with the four-lane P.J. Adams Parkway, is expected to relieve congestion on the heavily traveled State Road 85 corridor.
