OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. — The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is advising drivers to be aware of nighttime and daytime lane closures this week as construction and maintenance work continues across Okaloosa and Walton counties.
OKALOOSA COUNTY
— Brooks Bridge Replacement Project
Drivers may encounter intermittent lane closures Sunday, Jan. 18, through Thursday, Jan. 22, from 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. for construction activities at the following locations: Santa Rosa Boulevard from U.S. 98 to Ross Marler Park, and U.S. 98 from Ferry Road to Pier Road. Signage and traffic flaggers will be in place to safely direct drivers through the work zone.
— Interstate 10 eastbound rest area and truck parking improvements
Truck parking at the Interstate 10 eastbound rest area at mile marker 59 is temporarily closed for a 120-day period and is scheduled to reopen in mid-February 2026. Passenger vehicle parking and rest area facilities will remain open during construction.
— U.S. 98 resurfacing from Santa Rosa County line to west of Josie Road
Motorists will encounter intermittent lane closures from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Monday, Jan. 19 through Friday, Jan. 23, for median improvements.
— State Road 85 improvements from State Road 123 to Hospital Drive
Drivers will encounter intermittent lane closures between State Road 123 and the Shoal River Bridge Monday, Jan. 19, through Friday, Jan. 23. Northbound closures are scheduled from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., and southbound closures from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., as crews place thermoplastic striping.
— U.S. 98 routine maintenance from Florida Place Southeast to State Road 393
Motorists may encounter intermittent eastbound and westbound lane closures Tuesday, Jan. 20, through Friday, Jan. 23, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for routine maintenance.
WALTON COUNTY
— U.S. 331 resurfacing project from south of Interstate 10 to U.S. 90
Drivers may encounter intermittent turn lane closures from 7:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., Monday, Jan. 19, through Thursday, Jan. 22, for striping operations.
— Western Lake Bridge replacement
Motorists may encounter temporary County Road 30A traffic stoppages near the Western Lake Bridge Sunday, Jan. 18, through Saturday, Jan. 24, from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Delays are expected to last less than 15 minutes, with intermittent flagging in place to guide vehicles and pedestrians through the work zone.
FDOT noted that all construction activities are weather-dependent and may be delayed or rescheduled in the event of inclement weather.
