OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. — The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has announced upcoming lane closures and temporary travel impacts in Okaloosa and Walton counties beginning Sunday, November 9, as crews perform construction and maintenance activities.
OKALOOSA COUNTY
— Brooks Bridge Replacement Project
Drivers may encounter intermittent lane closures Sunday, November 9, through Thursday, November 13, from 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. for construction work at the following locations:
- Santa Rosa Boulevard from U.S. 98 to Ross Marler Park
- U.S. 98 from Ferry Road to Pier Road
Signage and traffic flaggers will be in place to direct drivers safely through the work zone.
— State Road 85 Improvements from State Road 123 to Hospital Drive
Intermittent lane closures are expected at the following times:
- Northbound from Shoal River Bridge to Interstate 10, Sunday, November 9, through Thursday, November 13, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
- Southbound from Interstate 10 to Shoal River Bridge, Sunday, November 9, through Thursday, November 13, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
— Interstate 10 Rest Area and Truck Parking Improvement Project
The westbound rest area near mile marker 60 will be temporarily closed Sunday, November 9, and Monday, November 10, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. for paving operations. Truck parking at the eastbound rest area near mile marker 59 remains closed for 120 days and is expected to reopen in mid-February 2026. Passenger vehicle parking and rest area facilities will remain open.
— U.S. 98 Resurfacing from Santa Rosa County Line to west of Josie Road
Lane closures are planned Sunday, November 9, through Thursday, November 13, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. for shoulder work.
— State Road 393 (Mary Esther Boulevard) Veterans Day Parade
Mary Esther Boulevard will be closed on Tuesday, November 11, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., from Anchors Street to Hollywood Boulevard, for the City of Mary Esther’s Veterans Day Parade.
WALTON COUNTY
— U.S. 331 Resurfacing from south of Interstate 10 to U.S. 90
Drivers will encounter the following traffic impacts Sunday, November 9, through Saturday, November 15:
- The northbound middle-turn lane at U.S. 90 is temporarily closed. One left-turn and one right-turn lane remain open.
- The U.S. 90 westbound outside travel lane between 11th Street and U.S. 331 is temporarily closed. One westbound lane and one left-turn lane remain open.
Intermittent and alternating U.S. 331 lane closures between Bruce Avenue and U.S. 90 will occur from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. for paving.
— U.S. 98 Intersection Improvements at U.S. 331
Motorists may encounter intermittent lane closures from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday, November 9, through Thursday, November 13, for paving operations.
All work is weather-dependent and may be delayed or rescheduled due to inclement weather. The Florida Department of Transportation reminds drivers to use caution, especially at night, and to watch for construction workers and equipment entering and exiting the roadway.
