The EOD 133 Memorial Workout gives individuals, teams, and health clubs the ability to plan a workout that is dedicated to giving back to EOD warriors. The 133 in the memorial title represents the number of EOD warriors who have made the ultimate sacrifice, and lost their life while carrying out an EOD mission since 9/11. The event was created four years ago by EOD warriors as a way to help raise awareness and funds for the cause.

Are you looking to put meaning behind your daily workout routine? According to the International Health, Racquet & Sportsclub Association, over 57 million Americans belong to health clubs around the country. Now, athletic enthusiasts can turn one of their workouts into an effective way to help family members who have lost a loved one doing the most dangerous job in the military – explosive ordnance disposal (EOD), or bomb disposal, by taking part in the EOD 133 Memorial Workout.

“Dedicating one of your workouts to fallen EOD warriors is a great way to honor them and raise awareness about this important cause,” explains Nicole Motsek, executive director of the EOD Warrior Foundation.

Those participating in the nationwide memorial workout should register online, either as an individual or as a team. The workout can be done at a gym or at home. There is a $35 per person registration fee, and those who register early will receive a T-shirt. There are prizes for both individuals and teams, including workout equipment, apparel, and Boombells.

How it works: Gyms, military commands or individuals register to participate in the workout. The workout is done as a two-man team, as EOD technicians are trained to work in pairs. Each person who officially registers early receives an EOD 133 Memorial T-shirt. All registration donations benefit the EOD Warrior Foundation, and directly support EOD warriors and their families.

Workout participants wear a 20-pound vest or body armor, and do the following workout:
