FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla. — Okaloosa Saves has changed its name to Emerald Coast Saves after 23 years as the nonprofit expands its reach across Northwest Florida.

The organization said the new name reflects its service to communities across Okaloosa, Walton, Santa Rosa, Escambia, and neighboring counties.
Okaloosa Saves Inc., which is doing business as Emerald Coast Saves, was established in 2003. The nonprofit provides free financial education and encourages individuals to save money, build wealth, and reduce debt.
“Although our name is changing, our commitment to our members and our mission of promoting savings, building wealth and reducing debt remains the same,” said Emerald Coast Saves Board Chair Laura Coale.
“This change is about better representing the communities we already serve and creating opportunities to reach even more people across Northwest Florida with the tools and motivation they need to become lifelong savers.”
Emerald Coast Saves says the transition will not affect memberships, services, partnerships, or organizational leadership. Members will continue to have access to the same resources and support.

The organization’s website has changed to EmeraldCoastSaves.org, and outreach materials will gradually be updated with the Emerald Coast Saves name.
Emerald Coast Saves is a sister campaign to America Saves, a national program managed by the nonprofit Consumer Federation of America. America Saves works with nonprofit, government, and corporate organizations to encourage saving, debt reduction, and other financial habits.
“This new name reflects who we are today and where we are headed,” said Ms Coale.
“As Emerald Coast Saves, we look forward to helping even more individuals, families, and communities achieve financial success.”
