Eight in Walton facing drug charges after search of homes in Freeport

WALTON COUNTY, Fla. — The Walton County Sheriff’s Office has arrested eight individuals and reportedly seized fentanyl and methamphetamine after searching two homes in Freeport.

According to the Walton County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO), its vice/narcotics unit found six grams of methamphetamine and 14 grams of fentanyl after serving two search warrants in two days, leading to the eight arrests.

On February 14, the WCSO said a search warrant was executed at a residence in The Palms of Freeport. According to the WCSO, fentanyl, methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia were discovered in the home.

Richard Cody Donovan, 35, was arrested and charged with possession of fentanyl, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Jason Allen Humphrey, 44, was charged with possession of methamphetamine and violation of probation.

Austen James Huckaba, 29, was also arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The next day, the vice/narcotics unit reportedly executed a second search warrant at 300 Blueberry Road in Freeport. During the search, the WCSO said 11 grams of fentanyl and three grams of methamphetamine were seized.

Danielle Ann Hassler, 44, was arrested and charged with trafficking in fentanyl, 4-14 grams, possession of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Aaron Ezekiel Scott Chandler, 36, was charged with possession of fentanyl and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The WCSO said Hassler and Chandler also had active warrants for violation of probation and failure to appear from a search warrant executed by the WCSO in December of 2021. Hassler and Chandler were previously charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of heroin with intent to distribute, the WCSO said.

Vance Gordan Mitchell, 53, was arrested with possession of fentanyl.

Kristen Joan Taylor, 29, was charged with possession of fentanyl and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Delores Stanley Simpler, 53, was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
