FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla. — Eglin Federal Credit Union has donated $50,000 to Westonwood Ranch to support technology and communication upgrades for its programs serving children and young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
The presentation took place Friday, July 25, when Eglin Federal Credit Union officials visited Westonwood Ranch in Freeport to deliver the check.
Lindy Wood, founder and CEO of Westonwood Ranch, expressed appreciation for the support.
“With this $50,000 gift, we’re going to be able to invest in our technology here at Westonwood Ranch,” Ms Wood said.
“To have a partnership like this with Eglin Federal Credit Union is incredible, and we are beaming with gratitude knowing we have a team we can count on. Thank you for believing in our mission and investing in some of the most vulnerable lives in our community, those with developmental disabilities.”
Westonwood Ranch, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit located in Freeport, provides year-round educational programs and transition-to-work opportunities for individuals with developmental differences. Services include summer day camps, therapeutic horseback riding, recreational therapy, and aquaponic lettuce and dog treat enterprises, along with family outreach and support.
Eglin Federal Credit Union President and CEO Cathie Staton said the donation aligns with the credit union’s commitment to the community.

Westonwood Ranch is said to fill a critical gap in surrounding communities by offering hands-on training that helps participants build independence, job readiness, and social confidence.
