NICEVILLE, Fla. — Lula J. Edge Elementary School will celebrate the 100-year anniversary of its historic building on Monday, November 10, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., and the entire community is invited to join in the centennial celebration.
All alumni, former faculty, and staff of Niceville School, Niceville Elementary, and Edge Elementary, along with current students and families, are encouraged to attend the event honoring a century of education and community tradition.
The Centennial Celebration will feature live music under trees planted by teachers and students over 50 years ago, refreshments in the cafeteria, and local food vendors. Visitors can explore historical displays, vintage yearbooks, and class photos, and enjoy oral history presentations from former students, faculty, and staff.
Each grade level and department will highlight a specific decade in the school’s history through research, timelines, photographs, articles, and artifacts.
Organizers said the milestone offers a meaningful opportunity to reflect on the school’s long history and its role in shaping generations of students since 1925.
Those wishing to contribute to the event can do so through the school’s Amazon wish list here.
The Edge Elementary centennial celebration will be held at the school, located at 300 Highway 85 North in Niceville.
