DESTIN, Fla. — The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office has charged a Destin businessman with two counts of fraud in obtaining property over $50,000.

The businessman, Timothy Henderson, 57, was arrested January 5.

The victim reported to OCSO investigators that he and Henderson entered into an arrangement where the victim was to purchase property on Indian Trail in Destin and fund construction costs for Henderson to build homes. In return, once the property was sold, the victim was to be refunded, plus receive 40 percent of the net sale.

According to a Sheriff’s Office report, the victim says he wasn’t informed that Henderson’s company, Henderson Development and Design, sold a property on January 20, 2017, for $555,0000.

The victim was reportedly given $49,700, which was less than the approximately $485,000 he says he was supposed to receive.

The victim told investigators his requests for the additional funds spelled out in the agreement were ignored.
