NICEVILLE, Fla. — Craig Kinsley has been named assistant principal of Lewis School, according to the Okaloosa County School District.
The Okaloosa County School Board approved Mr Kinsley’s appointment during its May 26 meeting. He currently serves as dean at Lewis School and brings 28 years of experience in education to the position.
Mr Kinsley’s background includes 17 years in administrative leadership roles as an assistant principal at one high school and two middle schools. He also served for two years as a middle school principal in the School District of Indian River County.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Florida Atlantic University and a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University.
According to the Okaloosa County School District, Mr Kinsley was named Assistant Principal of the Year in Indian River County for the 2021-2022 school year in recognition of his leadership and service to students, staff, and school communities.
Following the 2023-2024 school year, Mr Kinsley relocated to Northwest Florida with his wife, Tracey, as she pursued her role as Executive Director of the Panhandle Animal Welfare Society (PAWS).
Before becoming dean at Lewis School, he served as a fifth-grade teacher at Florosa Elementary School. The district said Mr Kinsley looks forward to continuing to support Lewis School students, staff, and families through his experience in instructional leadership, school culture, and student support.
