NICEVILLE, Fla — A benefit chili competition held last month in Bluewater Bay raised $1,300 for CALM, Crisis Aid for Littles and Moms.
The 2nd Annual Chili Cook-Off sponsored by LJ Schooners Dockside Restaurant & Oyster Bar was held Saturday, November 21. The event was well-attended, and 12 competitors battled over the best chili.
Ned Griffith took home Chef’s Award with his Mr. G’s 10 Second Chili. Buzz Clark took home the People’s Choice award with Smokin Chili. Kevin Cook racked up the Bartender Brigade Award and The Peoples Choice Cash Vote Award with his “no name” chili.
All proceeds raised were presented to CALM.
CALM is a transition home in Niceville for single moms and their children in crisis situations, such as homelessness.
