NICEVILLE, Fla. — The Bluewater Elementary School Academic Team placed second in the nation in its division in the recent Knowledge Master Open academic competition.
The second-place national finish qualifies the Bluewater Elementary School team to take part in the national competition in June. The team is coached by fifth-grade teachers Claire Erk and Lauren Brown.
Knowledge Master Open is a computer-based semiannual worldwide academic competition that began in 1983, according to Wikipedia.
Question include 15 subject areas: American history, world history, government, recent events, economics & law, geography, literature, English, math, physical science, biology, earth science, health & psychology, fine arts, and useless trivia.
Winning teams for each division receive a three-foot banner for their schools, and top teams receive an invite to the 40th Annual National Academic Competition in May and June.
