Traffic Advisory Bay County, Jackson County Florida
Weekly Traffic Advisory, Bay County and Jackson County (Florida Department of Transportation)

BAY COUNTY, Fla. — Motorists will encounter traffic disruptions on the following state roads in Bay and Jackson counties as crews perform construction and maintenance activities, according to the Florida Department of Transportation.

Bay County:

— State Road (S.R.) 390 Widening from Jenks Avenue to S.R. 77
Kentucky Avenue remains closed at the S.R. 390 intersection. Drivers may use either West 18th Street or Carolina Avenue for access to S.R. 390. S.R. 77 pedestrian traffic is shifted to the east side of the roadway near the S.R. 390 intersection. The sidewalk on the west side of S.R. 77 is temporarily closed from the S.R. 390 intersection to 17th Street. Pedestrians may cross to the sidewalk on the east side of S.R. 77 at either the S.R. 390 or 17th Street intersections.

— U.S. 98/Tyndall Air Force Base Flyover
U.S. 98 westbound traffic is shifted slightly to the north, so work may continue to elevate the travel lanes above the two intersections. No oversized permit loads are allowed while this lane shift is in place.

— Beach Drive (U.S. 98B) Resurfacing from 15th Street to West of Harrison Avenue (U.S. 231)
Drivers will encounter the following intermittent lane closures:

  • Frankford Avenue from 9th Street to Beach Drive Monday, Aug. 1 to Friday, Aug. 5 from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. for road work.
  • 6th Street from Harrison Avenue to Beach Drive Sunday, Aug. 7 to Friday, Aug. 12 from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. for paving operations.

Jackson County:

— U.S. 231 Resurfacing from I-10 to U.S. 90
Motorists will encounter intermittent lane closures Monday, Aug. 1 through Friday, Aug. 5 for striping operations.

All activities are weather-dependent and may be delayed or rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. Drivers are reminded to use caution, especially at night, when traveling through a work zone and to watch for construction workers and equipment entering and exiting the roadway.
