Alleged tool theft in Freeport, public’s help sought to ID suspect

FREEPORT, Fla. –– A man reportedly stole more than $500 worth of tools from Ace Hardware in Freeport, and the Walton County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in identifying the suspect.

The alleged tool thief was caught on security video, the Walton County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) said.

According to Walton County Sheriff’s Office, on October 20 around noon, a man was dropped at the hardware store off in a gray four-door Nissan Titan. The truck has a Florida tag, tools in the truck bed, and a ladder rack, the WCSO said.

Minutes later, the individual allegedly stole more than $500 worth of tools from the store and left across the parking lot on foot.

According to Walton County Sheriff’s Office, the suspect has tattoos on his right forearm which are believed to be a fish and pin-up girl.
