EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. — Two personnel were injured Thursday afternoon following an incident at a research and development facility on Eglin Air Force Base, according to Eglin Air Force Base officials.
Eglin Air Force Base said the incident occurred at approximately 2 p.m. at the High Explosive Research and Development Facility on base.
An ambulance transported the injured individuals to HCA Florida Fort Walton–Destin Hospital for treatment, according to Eglin officials.
Eglin Air Force Base officials did not release information about what caused the incident, who was injured, or the extent of the injuries.
Okaloosa County Emergency Medical Services, along with Eglin’s emergency medical services personnel and explosive ordnance disposal team, responded to the scene.
Eglin Air Force Base said damage from the incident was confined to the High Explosive Research and Development Facility.
The cause of the incident remains under investigation, according to Eglin officials.
