NICEVILLE, Fla. — The Okaloosa County School Board has approved the appointment of a new assistant principal for Edge Elementary School, according to the Okaloosa County School District.
The board approved Kaleigh Goss for the role during its April 27, 2026, meeting.
Ms Goss began her educational career after earning a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of West Florida in 2012 and later returned to complete a master’s degree in educational leadership in 2025.
She initially taught in Walton County before joining the Okaloosa County School District, where she is said to have found a community that helped shape her growth as both a teacher and a leader.
With nine years of experience teaching kindergarten through second grade at Southside Primary, Ms Goss developed a focus on strong instruction, collaboration, and systems designed to support student success.
She later served as an instructional math coach for three years, supporting kindergarten through fifth-grade teachers, working with CPALMS, developing FAST math assessment items, presenting statewide with the Florida Department of Education, and serving on Pearson’s standards-setting panel.
Ms Goss then transitioned to Shalimar Elementary School as a school counselor, expanding her experience in student support systems and school operations.
According to the district, those experiences contributed to her decision to pursue a leadership role at the administrative level.
Ms Goss has been married to her husband, Andy, for 13 years. She is a stepmother to Madison and Bree and is also said to have a dog and a cat.
