OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. — The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has announced upcoming lane closures, traffic shifts, and construction activity across Okaloosa and Walton counties.
OKALOOSA COUNTY
— Brooks Bridge Replacement Project
Drivers may encounter intermittent lane closures on U.S. 98 from Ferry Road to Pier Road and on Santa Rosa Boulevard from east of Amberjack Drive to Ross Marler Park, Sunday, March 29, through Thursday, April 2, from 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. for construction activities.
— Brooks Bridge traffic shift and Brooks Street closure
Beginning Sunday, April 5, drivers will encounter a temporary traffic shift on U.S. 98 over Brooks Bridge between 9 p.m. and 5:30 a.m.
- Westbound traffic will be reduced to one lane and shifted onto the eastbound side from Santa Rosa Boulevard on Okaloosa Island to west of Perry Avenue in Fort Walton Beach. Eastbound traffic will also be reduced to one lane. Law enforcement officers will be on site to direct traffic.
- A segment of Brooks Street beneath Brooks Bridge will also be closed Sunday, April 5, through Wednesday, April 8, from 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. Drivers will be detoured via Florida Blanca Place SE, First Street, and Perry Avenue. Access to nearby properties and businesses will remain open.
— U.S. 98 resurfacing from Santa Rosa County line to west of Josie Road
Shoulder closures are expected Monday, March 30, through Thursday, April 2, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. for utility relocation and median improvements.
Lane closures are also expected Sunday, March 29, through Thursday, April 2, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. for median improvements.
— Interstate 10 resurfacing from east of Shoal River Bridge to west of State Road 285
Drivers will encounter alternating daytime westbound lane closures between mile markers 64 and 67 on Monday, March 30, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. for construction activities.
— State Road 293 (Danny Wuerffel Way) resurfacing from U.S. 98 to the Mid-Bay Bridge
Drivers may encounter intermittent lane closures on U.S. 98 from Paraiso Boulevard to Regions Way and on State Road 293 from U.S. 98 to the Mid-Bay Bridge, Monday, March 30, through Thursday, April 2, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. for sidewalk repairs.
— U.S. 98 routine maintenance west of South Mattie M. Kelly Boulevard in Destin
Drivers may encounter intermittent lane closures on Monday, March 30, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for routine maintenance.
WALTON COUNTY
— Western Lake Bridge Replacement Project
Drivers may encounter temporary traffic stoppages on County Road 30A near Western Lake Bridge Sunday, March 29, through Saturday, April 4, from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. for pile driving operations and material loading. Delays are expected to last less than 15 minutes, and flagging operations will guide traffic through the work zone.
