OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. — The Florida Department of Transportation has announced lane and shoulder closures along U.S. 98 in Okaloosa and Walton counties as crews continue resurfacing and maintenance work.
OKALOOSA COUNTY
— U.S. 98 and State Road 293 Resurfacing Project
Drivers will encounter intermittent lane closures on U.S. 98 from Paraiso Boulevard to Regions Way and on State Road 293 from U.S. 98 to the Mid-Bay Bridge Sunday, March 1, through Thursday, March 5, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. for sidewalk repairs.
— U.S. 98 Resurfacing from Santa Rosa County Line to west of Josie Road
Shoulder closures are expected Monday, March 2, through Friday, March 6, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. for utility relocation and median improvements.
Lane and shoulder closures are also expected Sunday, March 1, through Thursday, March 5, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. for median improvements.
— U.S. 98 Routine Maintenance west of Beach Drive
Motorists may encounter intermittent eastbound outside lane closures on Monday, March 2, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. for routine maintenance.
WALTON COUNTY
— U.S. 98 Resurfacing from Santa Rosa County Line to west of Josie Road
Portions of this resurfacing project extend into Walton County, where motorists may encounter daytime shoulder closures and nighttime lane closures within the same timeframe, March 1 through March 6.
All activities are weather-dependent and may be delayed or rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. The Florida Department of Transportation urges drivers to use caution, especially at night, when traveling through a work zone, and to watch for construction workers and equipment entering and exiting the roadway.
