WALTON COUNTY, Fla. — A Walton County man wanted on child kidnapping and sexual assault charges out of Alachua County was arrested Tuesday in DeFuniak Springs, according to law enforcement officials.
Members of the U.S. Marshals Task Force, including deputies with the Walton County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO), took Joshua Ryan Branum, 36, into custody on Hope Road.
Authorities said Branum was wanted on an active warrant issued in Gainesville alleging kidnapping of a minor and sexual assault on a minor.
The WCSO said Mr Branum was arrested without incident and transported to the Walton County Jail.
According to law enforcement officials, Branum remains in custody while awaiting extradition to Alachua County to face the charges.
Additional details about the investigation were not immediately released.
All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
