EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. — Several customer service areas at Eglin Air Force Base are operating with reduced services or closing entirely due to a government shutdown and furlough, according to Eglin officials.
Eglin officials released a list of affected customer service areas, including changes within the 96th Force Support Squadron, 96th Medical Group, and 96th Civil Engineer Group.
The following services are operating with limited availability:
96th Force Support Squadron limited services
Bayview Event Center — Self-service only
Breeze Dining Facility — Fewer stations available and longer wait times expected
Information Tickets and Travel — Limited services
Field House Fitness Center — Limited staff
Lightning Fitness Center — Limited staff
Testing Services — The National Test Center remains open to offer CLEP, DSST, and Prometric exams. Airmen are instructed to contact the Education Center to reschedule WAPS testing
Marketing — Reduced staff
DEERS/ID Cards — Reduced staff and longer wait times expected
The following facilities are closed during the furlough:

Beach Park at Post’l Point
Pool
Youth Center
School Liaison Office
Military and Family Readiness Center
Civilian Personnel Office
Education Center
Manpower Office
Training Center
Eglin officials said the 96th Medical Group remains operational but patients may experience minor extended wait times for appointments. There may also be potential delays in medical evaluation board timelines and active-duty medical clearances.
The 96th Civil Engineer Group reports outdoor recreation permits remain available through iSportsman. The housing office remains open but may experience longer wait times.
Eglin officials said additional service impacts could be announced if the shutdown continues.
