SHALIMAR, Fla. — A Shalimar man was injured Thursday night after being shot outside his home, according to the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office.
The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO) said the shooting occurred outside a residence on Oak Lane, where the victim suffered multiple gunshot wounds.
Deputies said the man was transported to a local hospital for treatment and was listed in stable condition at last report.
According to the OCSO, investigators used the Flock Safety camera system to track a suspect vehicle to an area inside Villa Russ Park. The vehicle had reportedly been stolen prior to the shooting.
Before the Shalimar incident, deputies had responded to a separate report of shots fired on Shirley Drive near Fort Walton Beach.
The sheriff’s office said no one was injured in that incident, but two vehicles were struck by gunfire.
Investigators are working to determine whether the two incidents are connected.
The OCSO said anyone with information related to either case is asked to contact the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office at 850-651-7400 or Emerald Coast Crime Stoppers. Tips can remain anonymous, and information leading to an arrest may be eligible for a cash reward.
The sheriff’s office also thanked the Fort Walton Beach Police Department for assisting with the investigation.
