HOLT, Fla. — The Florida Department of Transportation will host a hybrid public meeting next month to gather input on a proposed U.S. 90 Shared-Use Trail project in Okaloosa County.
According to FDOT, the Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study public meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 3, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Central time.
Residents may attend virtually by registering at www.nwflroads.com/calendar or participate in person at First Baptist Church of Holt, located at 532 U.S. 90. Pre-registration is required for virtual attendance and encouraged for those planning to attend in person. FDOT said the same information will be presented in both formats.
The study is intended to improve bicycle and pedestrian safety, enhance trail connectivity, provide recreational opportunities, and support economic development by encouraging non-motorized transportation. The proposed shared-use trail would cover approximately 2.4 miles.
FDOT said design for the project is funded, but right-of-way acquisition and construction are not funded at this time.
Project maps, drawings, and supporting materials will be available online at www.nwflroads.com/calendar. The same materials will also be available at the in-person meeting.
Additional information is available by contacting FDOT Project Manager Taylor Sellers at taylor.sellers@dot.state.fl.us or by calling (888) 638-0250, extension 1517.
