Fort Walton Beach ceremony honors more than 2,000 veterans

FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla. — Community members, veterans, and military leaders gathered at Beal Memorial Cemetery in Fort Walton Beach for the 2025 Wreaths Across America Placement Ceremony to honor more than 2,000 veterans laid to rest at the historic site.

Among those attending was Col. Brian Taylor, deputy commander of the 96th Test Wing, along with local and state leaders and representatives from military organizations.

The ceremony was hosted by the Veterans Tribute Tower Committee with support from local, state, and military partners. Organizers said the event reflected Wreaths Across America’s national mission to remember the fallen, honor those who serve, and teach the value of freedom through remembrance and service.

The program included a Gold Star wreath unveiling, a service roll call, musical tributes, and military honors, bringing the community together for a moment of reflection and remembrance.
