NICEVILLE, Fla. — Preparations are underway for the 18th annual Geek Lights on the Corner Christmas lights and music show in Bluewater Bay, and organizers are calling on volunteers to help set up during three upcoming Community Build Days.

The first build day will take place on Saturday, November 8, beginning at 9 a.m., followed by additional sessions on November 15 and 22 at the same time. Volunteers are invited to help assemble the large-scale light-and-music show that draws visitors from across the Emerald Coast each holiday season.

The build days will be held at the corner of Bluewater Boulevard and Antiqua Way, where the Geek Lights team and community volunteers will work together to prepare displays and synchronized lighting elements ahead of opening night on December 1.

The annual Geek Lights show, created by Jeff and Wendy Werner, features thousands of synchronized lights, holiday music, and storytelling through computer-controlled programming.

“If you feel so led, sign up and come join us! It’s a fun time of fellowship and community, and we sure do need the help,” said Mr Werner.

The display will run nightly from December 1 through January 6, with shows every 30 minutes from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and until 10:30 p.m. on Fridays, Saturdays, and holiday eves.

This year’s event will support the Junior League of the Emerald Coast’s Child Clothing Project, which provides elementary students in Okaloosa and Walton counties with wardrobes, books, and toys. A donation box and QR code will be available at the viewing area, with all proceeds benefiting the organization.

Volunteers can sign up for the Community Build Days through the Geek Lights on the Corner Facebook page.
